Netball Registration Day
The Perth Netball Association (PNA) conducts a Winter Netball Competition from May to September each year. Swanbourne Primary School is a registered club in the competition run by parents at the school for years 3 - 6.
Years 3 and 4 play a junior entry netball program called NetSetGo with modified rules which is designed to make the games more fun, giving players the opportunity to learn to play in all positions on the court with lower goal posts (2.4 metres) and size 4 ball. This is a ‘competition' program that runs alongside the full winter competition for years 5 and 6. Years 5 and 6 play in a graded competition under international netball rules with some modifications. During Friday afternoon sport the school offers interschool netball for years 5 and 6.

Minkey Hockey – Hookin2Hockey
Minkey (Hookin2Hocky) is a modified form of hockey designed to introduce children to hockey. The games and rules are changed to ensure a simple and safe version of the game of hockey. The game is played on a smaller field with two 20 minute halves with a 5 minute interval. Goals are not recorded in the Minkey competition as skill development is the main objective. Swanbourne Primary School participates in the Minkey competition that is run by the Westside Wolves club. The competition takes place on Saturday mornings at College Park and it is a sight to behold. The teams are school based teams and students from years Kindy to Year 4 can play. New to this year is a new Kindy/PP session to be held at 9am at College Park. This is skills-based with some match play at the end of each session.
Registrations for the 2017 season are now open through our website on the Hookin2Hockey (minkey) page. The link can be here Registrations
