Swanbourne Primary School has a widely acknowledged reputation for the academic extension programs offered and the ability to differentatiate the curriculum.

Swanbourne teachers work collaboratively to provide a teaching and learning environment that is built on developing the affective, cognitive and psychomotor doamins of learning. In short, we are focused on striving for excellence for every student.

Teachers implement contemporary instructional techniques that are guided by recent educational research. This encourages each teacher to continually refine their teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of every student. They set high expectations for student achievement and case confrence students to assist them to reach their learning goals.

The strategic direction of the school is founded on a Strategic Plan developed in collaboration with the School Board.

In the 2016 NAPLAN, the years 3 and 5 students performed better than their like school peers in numeracy and reading. Note - year 7 students ceased being tested in 2014. From 2015 all year 7 students entred High School.
