Swanbourne School Sports

At Swanbourne Primary School we are fortunate to have wonderful facilities for sports as well as a very supportive community environment to expose children to a number of sports. The support from the parents is paramount and has enabled our success over the past number of years.

Swanbourne has grown in numbers and sporting ability,  Clay Murray our PE specialist will develop and enhance the sport for the school.

The focus is:

Objectives:

  • Develop school sport at Swanbourne Primary, where the focus is for both boys and girls to participate in mainstream / fundamental sports that develop base skills.
  • To compete and be successful in competitor events – interschool, district and at a state level.

AFTER SCHOOL SPORT

The Sporting Schools program, an initiative of the Federal Government, allows additional exposure of sports for the students either in school or out of school.

Swanbourne is privileged to have an active staff member who has a passion for kids in sport.  Over the years the students have been exposed to a number of different sports; these include and not limited to Golf, Sailing, Skateboarding, T-ball/Soccer, Basketball, Gymnastics, Wrestling, Soccer and Dance.

In 2017 the focus will be working with the PE teacher to ensure the best possible outcome and exposure for the students.  The money will be used in school time and will be free for students.  There may be some sports or activities which will occur outside of school hours and these will be advertised with various year groups.
